Need help with your home? We’re on it. At The Finish, our goal is to help you create a space you love by pairing you with a designer who can help you tackle your decorating challenges.
Unlike traditional design services, we don’t have budget minimums, and we love small projects (like styling a bookcase, accessorizing your new furniture, or choosing window treatments) as much as the big ones (hello, floorplans and moodboards). And, unlike e-design, our projects are personal. We don’t sell flat-rate room designs. You’ll work with your designer in your home (or via FaceTime/Zoom) to solve specific problems in your space, whether it’s a floorplan that’s not working, or a blank wall you can’t seem to find art for. Plus, we have a network of fabulous designers, which means we can usually send someone to your home within a few days of your booking.
The best part?
Our services are billed hourly, so you can get as much, or as little, help as you need. Buy them buy the hour, or purchase a package of hours to use as you need them.

Do you do virtual consultations?
Yes, our virtual consultations are 30 minutes. We are able to offer virtual consultations nationwide.
What happens during my first consultation?
During the initial one-hour consultation, you and your designer will walk through the areas where you need help in your home. If it's a larger project, you might discuss your priorities, your vision for the space, and the biggest challenges you're having with it. If your project is smaller, say, you just need help figuring out a room layout or choosing window treatments, you can spend the time picking your designer's brain for solutions and ideas. Either way, you'll also talk timeline, budget, and next steps.
Is there a time commitment or a minimum number of hours?
Our virtual appointments last 30 minutes and in-person consultations last an hour. After the first appointment, there is no minimum time commitment. You and the designer can work together to set a budget and timeline for your individual project needs.
Do I have to buy from you what a designer recommends?
No. At the initial consultation, you can discuss your individual project needs and goals. For example, if you just need options from a standard retailer for an area rug, the designer can provide options and help you narrow down a choice. If you prefer the designer handle the design project from concept to completion, the designer can assist with specifying, purchasing, and installing.
What if I don't like my designer? Can I change designers?
Yes, if you have any issue with your designer or if you are not happy with his/her work. We can pair you with another designer. However, you are responsible for paying any time or expense accrued for your project. Please reach out to Stephanie@thefinish.co if you have any issues with your project.
Is there a minimum budget for a project?
No. You might not need a budget at all if all you need is help styling your house or if you are just looking for advice, such as paint color or room layout. You set your budget and discuss what is feasible for your project goals and needs.
