A dreamy pink and green nursery design in Fairfield County, CT
Nurseries might just be one of our favorite spaces to design. They're fun and whimsical, and we love working with clients who are filled with anticipation and excitement to meet their little one.
Recently, Alicia Tiberio from The Finish had a chance to work with a client in Fairfield County, CT, who was expecting a baby girl.
After starting her family with two boys, the client was excited to switch things up for her daughter, and was looking for a sophisticated, but feminine space to celebrate the family's new addition.
"The client came to me with a Schumacher wallpaper that she loved so we started with that as our inspiration. She has two older little boys and she wanted to make this a girly room," says Alicia.
In addition to the wallpaper, Alicia worked around a crib and changing table that the client had from her previous children. Otherwise, the room was a blank slate.
Alicia set out to choose the perfect finishing touches for the space, including window treatments, a new light, a rug, and a custom-upholstered swivel rocker. She also worked with the client to have the space wallpapered, and the ceiling painted to match.
One of the favorite parts of the room for both client and designer, though, remains the Schumacher wallpaper that was the early inspiration for the room. It provides a soothing backdrop that's girly and youthful, but still elegant, the color palette sets the tone for a serene space.
As for the room's new occupant? She's a fan, too.
"My client said that even during the witching hour, she takes her daughter in there and she seems to calm down," says Alicia. "It's very enchanting."
